The Bedford Residents Association Adopt-A-Highway fall cleanup of the Bedford Highway is scheduled for Saturday, October 19th from 10 am - 1 pm.
We will be working on the Bedford Highway from Civic #757 (Clearwater area) to the Bedford Legion and require volunteers to be 12, or over, and, if 12-17, every 6 participants require adult supervision (over 18).
Necessary cleanup equipment such as safety vests, rubber gloves, garbage bags and trash pickers, will be supplied and can be picked up at 10 am, the morning of, at Fish Hatchery Park. Volunteers should be properly dressed with boots, long pants and long-sleeved shirts. Rubber gloves will be provided but you may wish to have work gloves.
Groups will then be sent to either end of the route to work their way back, so transportation is recommended and appreciated.
Full bags are to be returned to Fish Hatchery Park to be picked up by HRM staff so if anyone has a pickup that would be available around 1 pm on the day of the cleanup, that would be very much appreciated.
If there are any groups interested in participating, any recyclable materials such as cans and bottles can be collected and taken away for the group as a fundraiser.
